In this phase, the study questionnaires, physical examinations, and their procedures and instruments are detailed to ensure validity and reproducibility. Among the variables measured are many similar to those in other large European cohorts, enabling combined data analysis. However, novel variables are also included, ensuring that this project will be at the forefront of science in the coming years. Over 70 researchers from all thematic areas of CIBER have altruistically contributed to this package.
